350/4l60 to 454/4l80 swap

New Guy here!

I have a 99 2dr 2wd Tahoe and just bought a 99 2wd 1 ton flatbed with 454/4l80 for an engine trans swap. Other than the obvious (engine, trans, computer, harnesses) What should I be sure to grab? Donor truck is located about an hour from me so the fewer times I need to go get parts from it the better.

Shoot id grab everything i could the more parts the better pack up the trailer or truck. I just pulled a lil 305 and a 700r4 out of a van and scored all the ac stuff for my nova i was missing then sold the brackets for power stering and alt for enough to buy a rebuilt carb. Just sayin grab all u can

Yeah. I ended up grabbing everything including dash harness. Unfortunately the exhaust was crap so I found one off of a 2500 burban to get me started.. This winter I plan to drop my truck, add a better 3'' dual exhaust, Headers, 99/2000 Escalade/Denali front clip/doors, lower trim and interior.

For anyone planning this swap

1. Be sure to get the 3'' exhaust - even if you have to cut it down its nice to have
2. Harness is not 100% the same between the 2 - even same year trucks
3. 454 radiator is taller than 350?? At least the one that was in the 3500 donor.
4. Fuel lines are not the same - reuse 454 lines and connect by filter if possible
5. Throttle and CC cables are seem to be too long? Going to get the ones from donor truck to see if they are shorter.

Does anyone know of a decently priced 454 header for my truck?

How is the project? Did you get it all finished or still a work in progress? I just bought a 454 4L80 out of a '95 burb I plan on putting in my '97 Tahoe. I just need to figure out everything I can before starting
Especially since the engine is OBD1 and my Tahoe is OBD2
