Just got a 1998 Tahoe, for the first few days it ran great. But now one of of every five attempts to start it, it will die back out. I can attempt to turn it back over multiple times, if I hit the accelerator it will rev up and sometime stay running.
There is not pattern to it, it can be the first start of the day or the truck can already be warmed up.
No security light on, New fuel pump. I have noticed the gas gauge likes to shake but it does have enough fuel to run without an issue. The engine also sometimes takes 1-3seconds to shut off after the key has been turned off, It will kind of sputter out and die instead of just shut down.
Just want to get a few Idea's before I start throwing money at it.
