98 tahoe no start

i've got a dead '98 in my bay!! i cant get it to start.. it drove in there 2 days ago.. cranks and cranks and cranks til the battery will go dead.. no start.. sometimes a back fire.. noticed it's a little low on oil, is there a safety switch?

it's 1998 Chevy Tahoe.. 4x4, it's green, if that helps

Go underneath the truck and using a dead blow hammer or our fist, wail on the fuel tank while someone tries to start the truck.
