Hello all.
This is a weird one. It is a new tensioner as I thought it was causing a squeaking noise. It has been on a couple of weeks and squeaking continued but tensioner was never a issue.
Then today, massive noises under the hood and we looked and the tensioner is broken off at the mounting shaft. The flange ( and the two bolts) is still attached to the bracket.
Wow! ANY idea what caused this? A/C clutch can be spun by hand (not frozen) and A/C belt is still there in one piece.
03 Z71, 105K miles, 5.3L all stock. Thank you for any ideas why this happened.
