i have a 2002 tahoe w/ airride just bought truck and was wandering how often the compressor will run

The compressor should only run at start up to level the truck or if it "senses" the truck being out of level from towing heavy loads, etc. If it is running either constantly or very often during normal operation you may have an air leak that needs fixed to avoid wearing out the compressor.
