Keep in mind the engine isentbobbyg123 said:12.5?!?!
That's the hardest obstacle for me to overcome. I know it's a huge vehicle, but they should be getting better MPG than that.
Is that instant or adverage?doo600 said:With E85 and 4wd in auto mode I'm getting 11.2mpg.

That is pretty good than as at 4000 miles I get 12.5 in city, so E85 sounds promising.doo600 said:It's the computers average. I never figured it out myself.

I'm told that it isn't broken in until 7000 miles.doo600 said:My truck only has 1600 miles so it may get better as the motor loosens up.

I'm sorry, I just noticed this forum is for 07+ models. Please pardon my noob mistake.
I keep saying the same thing considering our big comfy trucks weigh twice as much as a Honda.diehrd said:Hi i am a new guy as well , I just put an 02 on the road,First tank i got 312 miles with 19.8 gallons of gas. Thats 15.7mpg with mixed driving.
It has 5.3 engine,and a 3:73 rear end..
Now people say even that is bad gas milage,I think it is good milage. You have 5000 pounds in these trucks,And can move it over 79 thousand feet (Approx 15 miles) with about 7.5 pounds of fuel. Not bad in my opinionI bet if u tied a horse or horses to 5000pounds you would feed them a lot more then 7 pounds of hay to pull it 15 miles ...
