I heard the resolution wasnt that good...

Also, you will need to buy the "portable" navigation module to use the navi.. All in all its going to run you about 1700..and if you want xm and bluetooth then about 1800.... I'd go with either the pioneer or the eclipse.. i've seen the pioneer and read great reviews..>

Don't get me wrong... I love alpine! I had the old Lamborghini countach alpine poster above my bed when I was a kid.. When I was in my 20's I professionally installed car stereos and competed regularly.. Unfortunately other brands have caught up in technology. Hope this helps...:)

Disclaimer: Sound, just like appearance, is objective more than subjective...some like big bassy sound and others like crisp tight sound... Listen to both aforementioned units and see which one works for you..:cool2:

I've always loved the Alpine brand...It's hard to go away from it...You know the quality of the sound will always be there...

I've seen the 205 up close & personal on display & compared it to the AVIC-Z2...Yea, the Z2's screen does seem brighter, but it's also a lot more money...When you add the new Blackbird to the Alpine, they're about the same price...One thing I haven't done yet is compare the 2 in terms of sound...

As you mentioned, the Pioneer has probably caught up in sound quality, but I'm old school...Alpine's always dominated the sound quality arena & it's hard to go away from that...
