ever since i bought my truck a year ago, it has been towed to a local dealer 3 times within the 3 months i bought it new, now yesterday.... i was trying to start my truck to go out, (i just used it the night before and i ran fine) i put it in the on position and my panel light turned on and what was wierd to me is that it showed on my lcd panel, (service 4 wheel drive, traction control off, stabilizer control off) and when i started it, it didn't even crank, NOTHING !! i called on star and they sent someone to jump my truck.

when the tow truck got there, nothing, i mean nothing, i dind't even crank ... he was telling me that it has something to do with my key, it's not reading it somehow, some kind of a security code ... so i gave up.

called onstar again today, now they said the gmc goodwrench diagnostic gave them a code with the powertrain, and it needs to be towed to a local dealer... so on monday there it goes again, getting towed...

well, the truck is 1 year old and it has been towed 4 times to the dealer, i bought this truck knowing i'll have peace of mind, but it has given me nothing but problems and incovenience. i have work tomorrow and now i have to rent a car!!! i am trying to see who i can speak to about this, i am thinking the truck might be a lemon... hmm, i just need to vent guys

thanks for listening...

Just had my Yukon in for some warranty work and the service advisor said they will also complete a new recall that came out about battery run down. Ask about that, it might be the issue.

Sorry for your pain. :( I know the dealer would have gotten MORE than an ear full from me already!!! :cuss: Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if your vehicle keeps going back to the dealer for the same problem, and they can't figure it out, it should qualify for the lemon law... Only thing is, I don't know how many times it has to keep going back (something like 3 or 5 times :confused2: ... not sure). Check your documentation (w/ your warranty, owner's manual, etc...) for explanation. I believe it should be in there somewhere... Or maybe someone else on the forum can give you more specifics... (Also, I would really piss a big b!tch about it when you go into the dealer tomorrow so they have to take some type of action--that's TOTALLY unacceptable that your truck keeps getting towed to the dealer!)... Good luck!!!

In NY if your vehicle is 18 months old or less and has been to dealer for same problem at least 3 times, it's eligible for Lemon Law.
I had a 98 Burbon LL'd and won. Look into it for your state.

so i got the word back from the dealer ... the problem is the BCM - Body control module, somehow it just didn't work and it was the problem of my pass times that the car did not want to start. so the service manager said that it should have been replace awhile ago, now it will cost $2,000.00 to get it fix because its out of warranty. You guys might check into this, it might be Recall for the BCM - sucks for me

i don't want this truck anymore!!!

You clearly have a fight here that you should be able to win. Assuming you started complaining about the problem when you were under warranty, had it documented, and now the dealer is saying "it should have been replaced before". I would ask the dealer why the warranty isn't covering this if it was a preexisting issue. If they give you the cold shoulder, call chevy or the local service rep.

Out of warranty? Are you over your 36k miles already? If not you are well within your 3 years...

Ummm...negative! :nono: Like tbully said... Once they have the original problem documented in the system, it is a "pending" problem that "originally" started while the vehicle was under warranty and didn't get resolved. So, the service manager is trying to play you for your money... I believe, legally, once the dealer "documents" the original problem (while currently still in the warranty period)--you're covered under warranty for that problem, even if/when it reoccurs @ a later time, because it started while the vehicle was still under warranty... It's not YOUR fault the service techs couldn't figure it out. He basically put his own foot in his mouth when he stated that "...it should have been replaced awhile ago.". He's practically admitting that it was his own service dept's fault for not figuring it out. Hope I didn't confuse...

Anyway, raise hell w/ them w/ that argument! :cuss: WE GOT YOUR BACK!!! Well, we're here for you @ least...

Frist off sorry about your Yukon. You should not have to pay a single cent for the repair. If you are in Arizona I can point to a couple of Dealerships that will fix with out any questions.

I agree

RAISED HELL indeed!!!

I called GMC customer relations, and I talked to them about the problem and I told them that it was a Lemon and I am going to get legal help... then they went and agree to cover 95% under GMC goodwill program. I am satisfied in a sense to get my truck back, but not satisfied with the performance of the truck that I have. I am still trying to make them give me a new truck for the same payment that I am making, since I lost hoped in this one. Hopefully, they can make some kind of compensation. We will wait and see tomorrow.

Thanks for all your help guys!!

Also, please be sure to keep some kind of journal with who you talk to (in person or on phone), and dates and times, and take names and call-back numbers of everyone. I've been on the short end of the straw before and came out a winner; you can too!

So, what is the story on your warranty? You over 36K already? :eek2:

yeah, with my work of line, i have to commute a lot and my truck already has 40k on it. But for a 1 year old truck and the BCM go bad ... that's not normal!

now it's snowing here in VA and I don't have my truck for 4 days already, this is really frustrating!! I will get with GMC's customer relations and raise hell again...

Slippin' and Slidin' here in VA

Yeah man -- I just drove in on 66 and it's getting dicey on secondary roads... Be careful out there -- especially since you're not driving the truck! It's the ride home that I'm worried about -- stupid drivers around here.

Sorry to hear about your truck. Sorry I can't offer any help or suggestions other than what has already been posted. Stay on top of it and don't let the dealership string you around. Sounds like you've got a good case in your favor being as it was documented before your warranty expired. Keep us posted and good luck.

Well, stick w/ it and don't give in. I'm sure the first time this happened to you, you were well under the mileage threshold and that's all you need to fight this thing... Good luck! I'm praying for a good outcome for you! :yesnod:

dude its snowin there, it did not even get below 50 or cloudy until 5 o'clock tonight, now its 35 and were runnin on aux heat as heat pumps dont work well below freezing. i hope what you got does head south, time to see what the kon can do. :cool2: but i doubt it will stick long tommarrow gunna be 45.

sorry bout the kon man, hopefully you get it worked out, stuff like that is not common with gm. but i remember my 99 burban died on me in 10 inches of snow, when the alternator burned out and my battery drained to much, but i had a warrenty from the used car lot so i was happy, but i got a stupid VW bettle (laugh at me, i know, felt like a dumb @ss driving it) and man did that thing slide and fish tail, it sucked. hope you get the truck back soon.

Dude, the problems you're having with your vehicle are ridiculous & pathetic. Raise hell until the appropriate action is taken. That service manager has already acknowledged that your problem should have been fixed already.

Take this up as high as you need to in order for this to be rectified. I say don't stop until you feel satisfied with the result.
