Check it out, I found an Icom radio that fits perfectly where the stock original cd player was, and I used the stock cd players mounting bracket too. I just drilled two holes into the cooling fins, one on each side to secure it, wired it and put it in. I was a little worried about not being able to hear it so well since the speaker is on top of the unit and it is now inside the dash but you can hear it fine. Also if your wondering what the plug to the left is sticking out its the connector for the ipod check it out

Looks nice ! I'm looking to do something similar with a Kenwood in a '03 Yukon I just became the proud owner of. How is the temp of the unit - do you get sufficient air circulation ? Did you have to cut out the back of the slot to allow airflow ? Also, would be very interested in any guidance on your antenna cable runs. I have heard that caution is required so as not to interfere with the digital buses or computers in the vehicle.

This is a 144Mhz radio. I actually just installed it and was also concerned about the airflow. I don't however use this radio for more than an hour or two at a time so airflow isn't a real big concern for me. As for the antenna cable I started at the top ( its a magnetic antenna) ziptied the cable to the luggage rack, down through the passenger door behind the oh S#!t handle into that molding all the way down to right be hind the fuse box located on the drivers side of the dash under the dash/steering wheel, and behind the radio. I will post some pics tomorrow of what I did if it will help. It was quite easy.

Here are some pics of my antenna set up and ipod connector. I grinded a notch out of the weather stripping and railing so that the cable wouldn't get pinched by the door. I used the #17 fuse which is for the radio. Also I used a rubber gromet for the Ipod Connector so it would stay in place when not in use and adds a factory look!
