Installation of iPod interface for Pioneer AVIC N2

Does anybody know how to install the iPod interface for the AVIC N2??? I tried unsuccessfully this morning/afternoon. I got everyhting connected, but the unit keeps losing power. I installed yellow wire (for the power to the unit it self) to the spare wires on the wire harness (two orange wires), and it worked for a few minutes then it cut off & came back on, just to cut off again when I put the dash board back. Everything was connected properly. Should the cord for the power supply be connected to something else??? I have the cord grounded properly to a metal part on the frame, but I'm wondering about the yellow wire for the power. Can someone please help me???
