What should I do first? How do I get steps off side?

Welcome to the forum smaiden. It's new to me, too. First thing I would do is leave it as-is, drive it awhile to get accustomed to it, your upgrade tastes may change. Find what mechanical/driveability/service issues it may have. Get a factory service manual. Web search to find what are common issues and problems. Then, web search to find appropriate aftermarket suppliers...

I took the running boards off today and I also color-matched the bowties. The next thing I'm going to do is tint it all the way around. I really want to make it louder but I'm not sure which exhaust system I want. Any suggestions?

Long ago I built a small block with oversize headers, running to dual free-flow ThrushMasters, sounded great. Nowadays, I like quiet. Try a forum search on 'true dual', there were some discussions on exhaust mods there...
