I noticed that the side molding strip is starting to come off. Has this happened to anyone else??? I have had my truck for about 5 days too. Now what do I do??

Take that boy right back to where you got it and have them fix it. I had a ding on mine when I got it and I went back and made them fix it!

Mine is doing the same. Dealer said they have been replacing a lot of the door moldings. Mine have been on order for almost a month. They replace the original ones that are glued on with ones that use tape.

I know that they will fix it but it is just annoying considering it's brand new. It's just so cheesy looking.

I have taken the molding off of my 95 TA and my 00 WS6 and it looks so much better, I have been thinking about taking it off of the Yukon.....

Taking the moldings off the TA looks good. Same with the C5 Corvettes but the Tahoe has such a big door not sure you would be happy with the look... To me it gives it more of a LS base model appearance. JMHO. If you would rather fix it, the dealer should take care of it with some new 3M VHB tape or just replace it with new.:yesnod:

If you like the molding and you don't want the hassle of bringing it back, you can double stick tape it, BUT, you need to look for a 3M double stick. It comes in a red package and has a green safety strip along the tape. This is the industrial double stick that is used often for exterior items and will hold that piece on until you sell it! Just cut what you need, put it behind the loose area and you'll be done with it.

I've used this stuff on my Goldwing and it just holds that stuff on forever!!!

I agree.. The tape you’re referring to is their VHB series which stands for Very High Bond. Same stuff the auto world uses for moldings on cars and it's an all weather tape

I took it in last night and they are going to order a strip in, but now I am worried that when they paint it that it won't match or something.

I think I will leave the Yukon alone so I do not get door ding, the WS6 sits in a garage it gets driven very little, so since the Yukon is a daily I will leave it on.I see a sweet Y body in your sig check out my site if you want www.scfyb.com

Thanks... Here is a picture of the Y body. It just turned 4900 miles and yes that is correct, It doesn't get driven that much. We try to do a few car shows when we have time. ;)

moldings

I talked my dealership into buying me the chrome Escalade moldings and I put them on myself. I didn't want some body guy with 6 months exp removing or putting on my new ones.

That vehicle is a Hybrid of sorts. That molding is the Yukon Denali molding. It is a one piece molding with the molding built into a cutout. You can't just add the chrome from it.

There is a flexible chrome that you can add above the top of our molding.

The 3/4 inch is what I have on the back step pad and I have 1/4 for the side molding (not on yet)
