I installed the volant intake few weeks ago, the install was very easy, 60 to 90 min at max. I took me longer than that just to clean the engine
I did not notice any difference in performance, but it sound louder than before :jump:

i installed the volant with the air scoop. the truck wants to get up and go. Note: the only thing i notice is that if you put the peddel to the floor she open up then it shut down, like to much air. other wise it runs great. Don't know if a tune would work.

I had the same issue with the truck shutting down, i think it's from torque management. I installed caned diablo Sport tune and its much less. I am waiting for the tuner that tuned my Jeep to modifies the tune to reduce the torque management and to do few more adjustments

look at StylinTrucks.com or Volant.com - they both have photo's . Volant gives more information . ( the air tube hooks to the bottom of the air box, run down to the back of the RIGHT tow hook .) Note: you will have to removed the plastic around the tow hook .

It has to be more than that, I would expect that from a Airraid or True Flow Filter/Tube kit! A full blown intake has to atleast give 20HP on the Tahoe's because most of the ones I have seen give atleast 17HP, so this Volant one with a tube/tow hook add on has to give up to 20.
Geez if only I can find proof so I have an excuse to get one!

I get about 17 running around with about a 14 mile commute 1 way. Havent had it on a trip but it should be in the low 20's!

If the only performance mod you have done is the air intake then there will be zero HP increase for a couple of reasons. The engine will only use the air it needs. If you have not modified a way for the extra air to get out there will be no change. The mass air flow sensor is going to measure the amount of air comming in and adjust the fuel to give the proper mixture of 14.7 to 1
