I took it to the dealer and they replaced the seat.

I've slammed them around pretty good, but I'll try pushing down on the seat back before lifting up see what that does.

I’ve pulled it in and out a couple times and I can’t get the seat back to come up. Is there a trick to this, the passenger side works fine?

Yes, I noticed mine rusting when I brought it home from the dealer new. They are replacing all 4, I’m just waiting for them to come in. I bought a left over 2008, maybe sitting on the lot for a year had something to do with it?

Replace the cable with a new one and then install a cable loop of some kind. The loop with catch it if it falls again.

I just purchased a 08 Denali Yukon for $17,179.30 off sticker including GMS. I even negotiated their document fee. They wanted $250 to shuffle papers, I got them to split the difference.

I guess the way I would try and go about it is to get your money back and then start fresh, it's hard to negotiate after they have your money. I wouldn't doubt that they wouldn't give you your full $2700 back plus tax. I'm sure it's pro rated.
