I wouldn't try and shoehorn the Suburban seats in. You'll end up with numerous problems on this, from having seats sit too high to having bad looking floor treatments. Those velcro'd floor panels only have maybe 1/2" of clearance tops. Also, I'm not sure how you would mount the forward mounts...
All of the PPV's I have been in (and no I wasn't handcuffed) have had a smooth vinyl. I was at a Chevy dealer just today looking for a Cobalt and noticed that every Suburban, Tahoe and Silverado I saw with Ebony leather had the very coarse texture. Almost looked like Larry King's skin. Come...
I have not seen them side-by-side. The Tahoe metal seat bases are built for a stepped floor with a rise in the base of about 1.5" just ahead of the rear mounting holes. I suspect that is due to the frame accomodation for the rear axle. With the longer flat floor in the Suburban, it may not...
Yes, the material is different, but overall similar from a distance. The PPV 2nd row seats do not have a center fold down armrest. The PPV's come standard with cloth front buckets and 2nd row vinyl 60/40 and are only availalbe in Ebony. The 4x4 Special Service editions have more options, but...
First, I painted the Rivnut with three coats of paint with a detailing brush over several hours. Then, I put a small dab of silicone in the hole and inserted small plastic plugs I found at Lowe's. They fit very snug against the rivnut and sealed it well. After letting the silicone dry for a...
There is no single part number for the seats, they are a combination of different parts. Either way, dealer prices are around $1K per seat. Watch on eBay for the best deals, but they usually include the 2nd row seat.
Trying to just swap the covers is a task best left to an upholstery...
Not on the exterior surface on my Tahoe. It's just metal to metal and the bottom edge of the rivnut is serated, leaving small gaps between the surfaces. I sealed mine with several coats of paint. the other thing that surprised me was that the Rivnuts were installed after the body was painted...
A rubber well nut should work, although they tend to tear when they are subjected to a strong load. The factory installation features a riveted nut assembly with lips on the outside and inside of the roof skin. I was surprised at the lack of waterproof sealant on the factory installation. It...
For what its worth, GM calls the turn signal assembly a Turn Signal/Malfunction Switch. The TSM switch does not show up anywhere in the security wiring circuit.
I'm going to have to maybe go the other way on this now that I've tried it and think about it.
I can't get the thing to do what we're talking about, but I do recall a couple of times where I had the Tahoe out in the driveway (vacuuming, washing etc.) and had the horn make several short...
I suppose if that doesn't work, flash your lights 3 times, move the driver's seat forward or backward 2.5", turn the right rear dome light on and off 13 times in 10 seconds or less and deflate the left rear tire by exactly 3psi.
Are you guys yanking our chain in this? This seems really...
