    Just tell them you know GM has a problem with the steering shafts and that you know there is a new design shaft out and you would like it replaced. Just be nice about it and you shouldn't have a problem. Also, it wouldn't hurt to give them the bulletin # 00-02-35-003N

    No, it's not covered under the powertrain warranty, but it's a very known problem and you should be able to get it covered as a "goodwill" repair since it's a known problem.

    Wow. I guess your local dealer is not as "friendly" as mine. We were told by the GM district rep to replace them until 100k miles since it is a known issue that they have never been able to correct. I would try contacting another dealer if I were you.

    The rear expansion valve on the rear evaporater is stuck closed. You'll need to remove ther rear a/c case, and evaporater and replace the rear expansion valve. Be sure and evacuate the a/c system before opening a line.

    Don't run your truck in auto 4wd unless conditions exist that would warrant the use of 4wd. Just leave it in 2wd. The front axle will engage at times causing the noise.

    check your cig. lighter fuse under the hood in the underhood fuse center. That fuse supplies power to the DLC, which is the connector that you plug the scanner into.

    Your compressor is pretty much gone. The high side pressures have gone too high and metal has probably contaminated the system due to the compressor failing. You can find compressors online, or in salvage yards and autozone. But you definately need to replace the fan clutch.
