motor

I have a 1999 tahoe that's ready for a new motor and I found one with low miles in a 1997 tahoe. Does anyone know if this is an easy swap? I would assume the motor will fit but will all the electronics match up? Will I need another computer? Any advise or recommendations would be great. Thanks

174k miles later, no oil pressure. Dropped the oil pan only to find good size chunks of shiny metal! Time for an engine swap. I'm trying to see what advice you all have with what crate motor out there is best for the buck. Can I legally upgrade to something better than the stock 290HP...
