06 misfiring/ bad idle / lugging

Have. 2006 Tahoe check engine light has been on since I got it
Has a 5.3 vortex engine v8
Today it starts running pretty rough check engine light flashes when you give gas for acceleration or when climbing a hill
We have changed plugs and wires
My confusion lies with the fact that with having a miss it's not using gas badly ???
Any ideas on what else I need to check ??

Has anyone scanned your truck cause you could have a bad coil pack or maybe some bad injectors and when was the last time that the throttle body was cleaned...
