There are a few options here. This is ONE of the things that WAS changed for 08. The 08 tahoes/yukons have a lid on the center console, AND the seat bottom opens up to reveal a locking compartment below. You could try to find an 08 bench seat, or possibly just replace the armrest part.

I agree or see what it would cost to order one from the dealer.

The yukon we purchased is a base model but I can't see putting 35 to 40K into a car that you just drive to and from work. just my .02 of course and it does have plenty of features to fit our needs. We did not get the 3rd row seat either as it just gets in the way.

It all depends on how you want to get to and from work  It's nice after a long day to auto start my Tahoe from my office and get into the heated seats... I'm relaxed when I pull in the driveway even if traffic was bad..

Does anybody know what it would cost to get an OEM 08 center jumpseat to replace the storage-less 07 seat? I really would like some more room, kind of disappointed in the 2007 design.

I will guess that it is around 350. A hefty sum, but may be worth it for those moments when you flip the armrest up, and whoops, you had crap sittin in that little storage area that is now all over the back of the car, whoopie.

I went and looked at a seat in the local wrecking yard here from a 08 Tahoe, it measured up like it would be a direct bolt in application and they only wanted 600 bux for it. ha. I guess the blood was free. FWIW, it appeared to handle the impact well but not many usable parts left. I tried to get them to sell the console from the seat and they wouldn't budge. I'll keep looking...

blood?!?! Ewwwwwwwwwwwww, thats grody. Now, I wonder if SOMEONE here has the part number for the armrest from a 2008 Tahoe LS (for each color). That way we could go to GM Parts Direct, and see what they would charge.
