i went to a swap meet this weekend and i was going to buy a set of 20 inch boss wheels and general tires brand new for $1000 but the tire size was 275/55/20 which are 31.91 inches and the stock 265/70/16`s are 30.61 inches.

i didn`t get them because of the difference in diameter. i searched around and found out that a 275/50/20 is 30.83 to the stock 30.61.

i just wanted to ask what sizes most people here use and if there is any loss of power due to the larger size wheels and tires and if there is any rubbing and if the ride gets worse due to the decrease in sidewall height?

i want to keep it as close to stock diameter because i do alot of towing and can`t afford to lose power.

i have an 05 yukon 4x4 stock ride height.

thanks for any help.

I have 275/55/20 with a 3/5 drop, they should fit just fine depending on the backspacing.

Friend of mine has Boss 330 wheels on his Tahoe with 275/55 20 tires and no issues whatsoever. Alot of people have those wheels though.

I'm the oddball of the group that chose to run a 275/45R20 tire. It's a slightly lower profile but I still think they ride fine. I may step it up to a 275/55 next set I get, but we'll see.
