2001 Tahoe 5.3 Performance Mods

I just picked up a clean 2001. I am looking to get some additional horsepower and (particularly) torque out of this engine. I don't want the thing to sound like the typical Dodge RAM with loud pipes however...

Anybody have any recommendations on the way to go?

I have an 03 Mustang Cobra with a ported Eaton so I am partial to forced induction and the performance gains to be had. Anyone here have a Whipple kit on their GM?

There are some people with the Whipple kit.

I'd go that route too if I were you!
