2003 tahoe tranny shifting hard and late

Heya! My Tahoe not only shifts hard and late but it also slipped for a while. Especially when switching from 2nd to 3rd gear. I added 8 oz of brake fluid (please don't judge, it actually worked!) About 3 months ago and that stopped the slipping. But it still shifts hard and late. Is there anything else I might be able to do without having to take it to a mechanic to fix this problem? Thank you.

Transmission flush worked for me. It's a pretty easy DIY if you have some tools
