Hey guys! Im new to the site. Need help making a decision. I have a 96 Tahoe 4x4 2door & want to put a lift to run 33x12.50x17 on 17x9 wheels. It is factory height now with 285/75/16's on factory wheels with no scrubbing. Do I really need a 4inch lift to run 33's? would a set of 3 inch coil springs and rear blocks be enough? If not, what is the best lift for the least $..? please help!

If you are running 285 75 16 depending on the brand of tire that is a 33 in. Maybe 32 and a 1/3 or so, but still about a 33. Alot of guys are running 33's stock but since your going up in rim size i would possibly crank the T bars like boost said, but only a few inches not to much and than put 2 in blocks in the rear. If you wanted to use coil spring spacers you could , but cranking the T bars is less work. - good luck

BTW there aren't any coil springs on the obs (88-99) 4wd trucks, only torsion bars up front and leaves out back.

thanks guys. the tires on there now are Toyo Open Country A/T's. My tahoe has a set of rancho shocks on it, I guess the previos owner put them on there but other than that it is stock. What about a spindle lift? Would that help? Whats the pros & cons of spindles? I saw a company on ebay the other day advertising a set of 2 or 3 inch lift spindles & 2 inch rear blocks.
