Differental oil cost

Ok what is up with differental oil at 34.39 a quart. Yes I was quoted 103.17 for 3 quart of differental oil for a 2006 Tahoe. I don't mind geting screwed by the dealer i realise thay have over head but 34.39 is Just not Right.

The last time a changed the diff oil in my Nissan it cost me 12 bucks.

$20 worth of the best oil money can buy would fill a differential, if I recall right...

New syn. oil's aren't cheap. I don't know if this new gm stuff is for a limited slip or not, but that would likely add to the cost. If it's not limited slip just go and buy some amsoil gear lube and put it in yourself. I don't think $20 is gonna buy you much syn. gear oil though. A while back we had to change out the rear diff oil on a awd buick, it was like $25 a pint and it took 4 pint's. We had to change it twice as per the service bulliten. That's $200 for the oil. wow!
