Front end noise when turning...

What is it? About half the time when I turn the wheel when stopped or pulling out of the driveway i hear a pop on the driver side front wheel. Its driving me nuts. I figured I would ask you guys before I got dirty! any ideas?

Tie rod? Maybe a control arm bushing? I'd have someone shake the wheel back and forth while you look at the rod ends, pay close attention to the pitman and idler arms as they may have some play as well.
