Help! service air bag warning

Readout just came on the other day for whatever reason?
What might be the likely cause?
I have an 80 lb Black Lab that often rides on the passengers seat without his seatbelt!

does an OBD2 reader work on these vehicles?

Yes a odb2 reader will work on your Tahoe but it won't read airbag or abs codes you need a scaner Specifically for airbag codes and those scanners are around $200 and up I hate to say it but your best bet is to take it in to a shop and get them to scan it for you
