Per GM 87 octane fuel is recommended. I've been using that for almost 2 years and now I'm getting knocking. Anybody have any ideas why it's knocking now? Doesn't matter which brand of fuel, but I use Mobil almost allways.

Modern engines shouldn't knock. They have enough electronic engine controls to back off timing and adjust fuel maps to prevent knocking. I'd take it to the dealership.

Go to the dealership!
May need an oil change, or just more oil!

Where do you live? Is it high altitude?

Have you tried 89 in it to see if the knock stops?
