Oil change

I was changing the oil in my 98' Tahoe and while i was draining the oil out someone decided to go for a drive. Needless to say they got about 3/4 of a mile and the Tahoe died and will not start. Hoping there might be a safety switch that was tripped otherwise it looks like a new engine. Anybody have any experience with something like this?

check the codes and clear the fault code, may have a reset there. now put oil in it. May also try to disconnect the battery as a reset.

the motor did not seize up did it?

i would say its a good chance it seized up,i did an oil change today and i open the hood and take the keys just in case,mostly cause it has a remote start on it.
