power steering loss on 97 2dr...?

hey everyone, today i was around the neighborhood and doing some small donuts in the fresh snow and i had a loss of my power steering. does anyone know what this could be? im not sure if it has the hydro boost system on it or not? is there anyway to tell? what could have done this, it kinda just came out of no where and was working perfect seconds before this happened? and i dont see any fluid leaking?

well, i say small cuz they werent really even donuts, just a u-turn gone wrong, lol. i was doing literally 5-10 mph and then halfway through the turn the steering got real hard and i couldnt turn out of the turn.now i thought maybe the belt came off which would have stopped the pump, but it looked fine. only other guess is that the pump has failed? is there really anyway to check this, any code for this?
