My boss just bought a 2009 Yukon Denali XL with the 6.2 liter motor. The dealer says whatever you do don't use BP gas that it is ruining the valves in a lot of Yukons they have seen. Has anyone here ever heard of such a thing? The mechanic says it is all over the internet. I can't find anything about it. Quite frankly I don't think the mechanic has the ability to test BP gas out to see if it really is ruining the valves.

I have 103k + miles on my 2007, and I've used BP since day one. Maybe I've used 5 tankfuls of other gas under dire need. I have no issues with anything in my Yukon other than normal wear and tear.

I use BP and have never heard of it being a problem. In fact at a pipeline safety briefing for volunteers at my local office of Emergency Management the pipeline experts were lauding both Shell and BP for being the most careful users and going out of their way not to contaminate their product as it goes through the pipelines. Just a passing thought.
