Re-placing factory radio

Someone said that the memory for the seat etc is located in the radio so that if I replace the factory radio I loose the Driver 1 and 2 settings memory. Can anybody confirm this? It's a 2004 Tahoe with in-dash 6-cd changer and BOSE.

Also: Is it possible to add an aux-in to this radio?

add in AUX- you might lose XM radio though

It is possible to add an AUX cable to our head units, but I have read that if your have XM Radio you will lose it adding the cable. I hope someone who knows for sure can tell me I'm wrong though. I have the same year/setup on my radio and I want to add an iPod cable and lose the 6 Disc Changer. I never use the CD changer, ever. I don't want to change the radio because I like the stock look. It keeps radio thieves from breaking into my Hoe too.

Go to Crutchfiled.com and do a search for "Peripheral" brand AUX cables. There's one in there for our truck that will add an AUX port for an iPod brand MP3, and it also charges it and allows you to skip songs with the radio/steering wheel controls. The only CON is someone wrote a review saying they lost XM installing it, which is NOT going to work for me. I did not pay $300 for a subscription to lose it adding an AUX input.

I guess if it is true that you lose XM using this cable I'll just deal with it.

I don't have the XM-radio so that's fine. But how about the memory-issue?
