Removing the steering wheel, what is involved

I am looking at a new steering wheel for my 06 Z71 Tahoe with airbag on the steering wheel as well as controls. The new steering wheel is an exact replacement.

I'm trying to find out what is involved in this? How does the air bag come off? Do the controls simply pry off and have spade connectors inside the wheel that you pull the wires off?

I'm hoping someone has done this before and can educate me a bit.
