This is probably a stupid question but... I currently have 265 70R16 on my tahoe. how big of a difference is the 75R16? Im asking because were I am looking there is a much larger selection for the 75R16. I have a stock set up so I dont know if that matters. Thanks in advance!

If you want to keep your speedo as close to reading the appropriate speed as now, I would go with a 245/75r16 tire size.

A 265/75r16 tire size will throw off your speedo due to the fact it's a taller tire.

Are there any negative effects from going with a narrower tire? I know that in snow a narrower tire is sometimes a good thing. Thanks again!

The 265/75 R 16 is 2.24% larger than the 265/70 R16 whic will result in your speedo being slow by 2.24%.
Anything within 3% is considered "acceptable"

Example:

Speedometer reading/Actual Speed
25 MPH / 25.56
35 MPH / 35.78
45 MPH / 46.01
55 MPH / 56.23
65 MPH / 66.46
75 MPH / 76.68
85 MPH / 86.90
100 MPH / 102.24
