is there anyway i can tell if I have the TPMS rubber valve stems. i just purchased a used 2007 ltz tahoe but it has 22 in aftermarket rims and the tpms warning light and service message on the dash lights up. I am trying to determine if I have the TPMS valve stems on these wheels or not.

thanks

Well I just put on some 22" and I did not put on the TPMS right there and then.... I put them on Monday and they had to change out the metal valve stem that came with the aftermarket 22" for some rubber valve stems so my stock TPMS could be put on... so if it is the case you might not have the TPMS if you still have the metal valve stem..... Discount Tires put mines on

yeah i went to discount tire earlier to balance my tires and get some tpms sensor installed. none in stock or in any other surrounding stores also he could not tell me when some would be instock. He looked them up and states that they are rubber valve stem TPMS not metal. I went ahead and had them balance my 22 in tires and rims but I guess I should of asked them to take one tire off the rim to see if it had the TPMS installed. I was just wondering that maybe i may have the TPMS installed on these rims and just not programmed. hopefully that is my case. I checked online tonight and found the below for sale
and looked up the part number on the internet and it says they are rubber.

Correct they only make the rubber TPMS, GM stop using the metal TPMS... thats a good price there $31.23. At the dealer they will just rip you off.... And i believe Discount tires charges $10 to unmount the tires, $8 to install the TPMS, and $10 to remount the tires and the dealer was charging me $120 for each one itself........

Just to be clear...

Early production TPMS were metal. Later production and current have rubber, including any replacement ones you may order.
