u have a spare 15" lyin around? check brake clearences - the drums in the back won't have a problem at all because they are 11in... - but the caliper, and rotor - not sure - i'm pretty sure it will - take a tape measure and measure out the length of the caliper and rotor see what i measures up to.. - or - look inside your 16" wheels now, and see how close they are to the brakes, if they are over an inch close than it is possible - also make sure they aren't close to the control arms in the front - again that wouldn't be an issue in the rear

Not to hijack the thread, but is there an easy way to determine how big of wheels you can go on a stock 99 Tahoe without cutting ? I'd like a little more ground clearance some day, and to dress my Tahoe up a bit.

You could just lift it to get the ground clearance......
