z71 vs standard trim

I am looking at a 2006 Tahoe Z71. 99,720 miles. Asking price is $10,500. Carfax is clean except theft recovery at 35k. The vehicle was then purchased by a GM dealer and listed as a preferred vehicle and sold again.

The service performed list showed normal maintenance items items including a sound system check at 78k and 79k. Clear title, no other problems. No service records after last sale.

4 owners total for this vehicle.

Or

A vehicle I have not investigated. This one is a 2005 standard Suv, 107k 1 owner. $12500.

Could I please get opinions on the Z71 package vs Standard SUV? Do all the bells and whistles cause undue problems? I have never bought a vehicle so tricked out, I usually go for generic. I do like the prettiness of the Z71.

Anything specific I should look at when I do the pre-purchase evaluation?

Any comment on the Z71 I have listed will also be appreciated.

oo id be careful buying a government vehicle.. Im in the army and I know for a FACT people drive the **** outta those things.. its like a rental.. it aint yours so you dont appreciate it and drive it like you stole it.
