Do the tahoes have a factory rear-end locker?

That's why they're known in the off road community as "Gov-BOMBS"... I'd definitely have your's checked by the stealership, sounds like the locker may have some issues...as was said, it operates on a "one wheel spins 100rpm+ more than the other" principle, a weighted mechanism falls...

    Installing Magnaflow 16672 unit question

Yes, Home Depot, and just about any quality hardware store, would have Sawzalls (Sawzall is actually the brand name of the Old Milwaukee original, but almost every power tool maker has a version of the "sawzall" - ask for a reciprocating saw, or just sawzall and they'll know what you are talking...

    V4 vs. V8

I think everyone expects WAY too much from the AFM technology! Sure, some of it may be due to the GM marketing (and other manufacturers who have similar systems), but this is just another small step towards increasing MPG, not the cure all... What I am going to try is something a little...

    Installing Magnaflow 16672 unit question

If you have basic tools, a sawzall (cut off wheel would also work in a pinch) and some jackstands, you can do it in your driveway. I did mine in less than an hour. I did use my sawzall and air tools, but there aren't many bolts anyways...none of the cat backs are true "bolt-on" kits because of...

    Adding a second battery

You looking for just a "backup" type setup, or running in parallel type for more electrical power? I have friends who have done this on older trucks (K5s, etc), they have used isolators successfully. Our F-250 diesel has duals, as do most heavy duty trucks now...it can definitely be done...

    Running on all 4!!

You'll kill the motor in no time... one of the reasons it can't run on 4 cylinders for extended amounts of time is the heat problem...even though the engine is technically running on 4 cyls., the pistons and rotating assembly are still all cranking away...with no fuel being introduced into the...

Where is that post on power liftgate scratching the bumper?

This is one of the items on my list for them to fix, I'll see what they say when I bring it in...I'm sure I won't like the answer! ha,ha

How much trouble to change rear end

Yeah, going from 3.73 to 3.42 is not gonna get you much at all...and it would take a long time to pay for the parts and install, plus reflash of the computer, etc...is your truck 4x4? If so, you'd need to do all of this in the front at the same time as well. You'd want to use a quality ring...

Gas gauge has mind of its own

Yep, sounds like a loose ground wire from the sending unit...any of the other gauges doing anything wacky, or just fuel? If it's just fuel like you say, have them check the sending unit wiring...

    2007 tahoe diffential

Yes, look at the glove box codes if you don't have the original window sticker...it should be code "G80" if I recall correctly...other models can have it also, my LT3 came with it, but as was said above, I think only LTZs had it standard...

Driver Seat Memory Position - WTF!!

Yes, but if I understand you, he would still have to press the #1 or #2 memory button each time he gets in the truck, since the Fob would not activate either memory setting (unless he was the last one to drive the vehicle and they shut off the easy exit feature so the seat didn't move upon...

Driver Seat Memory Position - WTF!!

Yep, as was said above, each key is set to either #1 or #2 settings...if you're both using the #1 key, there's your problem...

    Possible Transmission Issue

Uh, we're gonna need a lot more information than "a loud noise I think is coming from the transmission" to help you out? What kind of mileage on the tranny? What kind of "noise" - a whining, a clunk, a metallic noise, ???? When does it make this noise? Does it do it at only certain times...

    General Grabber UHP's???

Most Generals are made by Continental, a very respected tire maker! I had a set of Generals UHP (can't remember the exact model name) on my '04 GTO, and they were great! Way better than the stock BFGs it came with...I have no experience with the Grabbers, but my experience with the General...

    Power liftgate and bumper contact???

Yep, have same issue...was told same basic answer, so I am just letting it rub...making a nice black mark (leasing, so as long as my complaint is on the record, they can worry about it when they want to). Mine's been doing it since new...if you watch the gate as it starts to up, it kinda shakes...
