I've known Rob Dyrdek personally for years...we went to grade school, jr high, and part of high school together. Hell, he's the one that ran and got my mom when I broke my collar bone after being hit by a mail carrier while we were on our old Nash boards.
He's always been a daredevil...I...
It's an easy job, you should be able to have it swapped out in a couple of hours. Advanced has them for under $200. You may need to borrow a few speciality tools, and they should have those as well. Be sure to pick up a Haynes manual. They are around $20 and have step by step instructions.
As soon as you said you installed platinum plugs, I knew it had to be that. I've had nothing but bad luck with them over the years. I've learned to replace with what the manufacturer suggests, as long as the heads and cam are stock. Platinums are designed for those engines with higher...
Poor manufacturing. High failure rates...the filter material clogs easily and will collapse, sending the oil through the bypass feature, causing dirty oil to circulate faster than a WIX filter will.
Also, every FORD vehicle I've ever put them on will have start up knock right after...
So he can be heard singing Barry Manilow.
Try one of these. I used to have a Wolo 100 watt system tied into my CB about 20 plus years ago. nice system.
An estimate is just that...an estimated cost of repair based on visual inspection. Techs generally find things as they get into the job. It's impossible to find everything without tearing it apart, and they won't tear it apart unless they get you to sign a contract to have them do the repairs.
Find reputable repair/collision shops that are known for high quality work in your area. Stay away from the box stores like Macco, they go as cheap as possible and are referred and preferred by insurance companies due to price. Get at least 3 estimates and compare them to see what they say...
LOL The Charger was my dad's race car. It has a 383 with Hemi heads that were altered to fit. He raced small tracks for about 5 years, then, after watching his brother wreck at Kil Kare in 1978, he gave it up. We restored it about 15 years ago and bring it out for cruise ins. To me, the car...
As the title says, it's a 2005 with the Bose single disc and tape player. I think it has XM, as the XM antenna is on the roof, but I don't know how to use it. The previous owner decided they really liked the owner's manual when they traded it in, so I don't have the book.
Also, as much as...
I have an Exploder as a daily driver, the F-250 for fun on the trails and such, and a Mercedes 560SL for weekend fun...and that's just in this state. When I moved from Utah, I left a travel trailer and a 2001 Durango in storage at a friends ranch. When I moved from Ohio, I left a 1968 Jaguar...
I've got an F-250 for that, my Tahoe will rarely see anything but pavement...not because I don't think it would be capable with a lift and tires, but because it was bought as a gift for my wife, so I could get my truck back from her. LOL
That's just a warning about the freezing temps.
What was the weight oil that was put in last? If it's too thick, that could cause issues.
I'd go for the tune-up and proper oil. It never hurts, especially if you don't know when it was done last.
Good roads...
I just picked up a 2005 Tahoe LT with 60K miles today. I think I did fair with the price at $14k. Picked it up from a dealer. It was a Certified Used car and came with a pretty decent warranty, so it's covered if it breaks.
Anyway, here it is...
