08 Tahoe tire size help PLEASE

Hey everyone new to the forum. Need help deciding on what tire size to go with my 24" rims. The choices are 305/35/24 or 285/40/24. Is there a big difference in the ride quality between the two. I'm just a little concerned about the bumps and pot holes. I live in jersey so the roads are not the best. Also what the major diffrence between the two.. Thanks for the help..

Not to much difference except the width of the tire. Here is the difference as well as a good site to compare future tires.

How did you fit 305s? Based on others that have tried, they had to either lift the truck or trim a lot.

No need to trim......Maybe a little if you put on a 2/3 drop.
