My daughter has been using my 2003 Tahoe all summer, so I just found out that the AC has not been blowing cold air in either the front or rear. The low pressure silver tube with the recharge fittings gets cold. She said that previously when she turned the temp dials to a low setting the air worked, but now it doesn't work at all.
Can you help me diagnose the problem? How do I check the system pressure? What is normal pressure? Could it be that after 10 years of usage that the problem need a simple recharge?

I checked the 4 fuses related to AC and all are fine. I did not check the relay

Thanks!

does it work and then stop or not blow cold air at all
dont know if this helps but my 02 stops blowing cold after sitting idling for a bit
on hot day wich i noticed the engine starting to overheat i found out i have tiny coolant leak were i was losing pressure wich intern caused the coolant to start boiling at a lower temp and before i bought it off my perents the ac quit i believe it had to be recharged
so if works and then stops blowing cold mite be overheating and it doesnt take much before starts blowing hit air just barely over 210 on the dail if doesnt work period probably as easy as a simple recharge

It doesn't work at all. The engine temp runs normal and the coolant level is fine. A friend told me that Speedy Oil Change can test the system for leaks and recharge. I'd prefer to do this myself if I can get some advice on testing the existing pressure in the system to determine if it needs to be recharged, or if something else could be wrong. Thanks.

You can get a recharge kit at wallyworld that includes a guage. Super easy to use, just push-fit connect to the low-side adapter, read the pressure guage, and add freon as necessary.

I'm curious what a 20003 Chevy Tahoe will look like.
