Hello all! I'm proud to be the new owner of a 1997 Tahoe LT, and new member to the forums. :waytogo:

I scurried the forums a bit to find some information regarding removal of the lower valance, but everything I found was pertaining to newer Tahoe's. So my question is: does removing the lower valance have any negative effects? I personally think it would look much better without it, but if removing it has any effect on MPG, I can live with it. Thanks guys!

The manufacturer put it there for a reason, so to answer your question I believe it would make a slight affect on mpg. maybe not much but more than likely it will.

It is there to deflect the air a few inches lower so as to miss some of the drivetrain components to reduce drag (improve MPG).......
