One of my main concerns is a smooth ride. Obviously there has gotta be some better shocks out there than the stockers. Maybe some might make this ride like a caddy. I was wondering if any with 07-08's have swapped their shocks out?

With the 22's and eventually a 2"-3" spindle drop I think I'm gonna need to do somthin to keep the smooth ride. Any comments would be appreciated :D

Also, do you know what shocks our stock ones are? Make/Model?

Not saying it's an impossibility, but once you lower the rig, and reduce the sidewall of the tire, you're looking at a harsher ride. 22's do look better, but there is a little sacrifice involved.

IMO, a big, lowered truck like a Burban, Hoe or a Yukon just doesn't look right. I love how they look lifted...:D

I'm not familiar with lowered tahoes but I did repalce all the shocks on mine with Rancho XL 9000 9-way adjustable. I'm not sure if they make for lowered hoes but they do have them for stock hieght. The only reason I'm mentioning these shocks is becuase they are the best shocks I've ever had.

If "smooth ride" is your main focus, you must also look at how the cab connects to the frame and the actual seats inside it along with the shocks, springs, tires, wheel metal,

I've already got the wheels and got some smooth riding tires, as mentioned the shocks are my next move toward helping the ride. Guess besides people lifting not many have touched the shocks.

A leveling kit would save me more comfort than a 2/3 spindle drop right?

For both, surprisingly. I think the dampening on them is so good that it can cover a wide spectrum of applications. I know it seems like a contradiction, and I suppose there's one for lifted/off-road and another for street, but I did see them listing the 5100 series for both dirt and street SUVs. For sure their adjustable ones could probably cover all bases. I think they're just that good. Other good off-road ones I know of are the Rancho 9000s like Gonzo said, Fox Shocks... I hear Pro Comp kinda sucks, and obviously if you're a Pep Boys shopper you'll end up with Monroe or Gabriel downgrading your ride. But all I know about Bilsteins is hearsay, but that's what I'll be using soon as I can.

Very different truck but I put then on my 2500HD and they improved the ride quite a lot. Just much better damping all the way around, particularly rebound damping in the rear.

They are stiff, but they control the suspension very well. I'm betting that the SUV shocks are not nearly as stiff as mine are, so they're probably really great.

The 5100 series are for designed for lifted trucks. Just ordered the hd series front/rear. The hd are for stock height setups. We're running a 2/3 drop and 24's but we are running spindles keeping the stock length mounting locations so i'll let you know how they ride on the tahoe. I usually run bilstein on everything. Love em.......I had to special order them none of my distributors had them in stock so it will be a few days before they arrive....
