I had to valet park my 07 Hoe the other day at the airport and when I returned notice the center trim piece in the top of my center console (lid) had been removed and was laying in the back seat. :mad3: I suppose I could glue it back on but my truck is almost new and I don't think I should have to do this. Can you just replace the top of the console?

It's not woodgrain it's the black plastic recessed piece in top of the lid of the center console. It's probably glued in the first place but I'm not happy that they broke it off. I especially can't figure out how they could have done it in the first place.

In my Yukon, the rubber piece in the center of the console lid is only set in, no glue or anything else holding it in.

The valet probably pulled on it trying to open your center console and pulled it out. Then freaked out and threw it in the back.

Yeah, that's happened to my Denali as well. The little rubber piece has a "nipple" on the back to orient it "correctly". It doesn't stay in there too well in general, but it's nice to be able to take it out to clean it I suppose. I'd rather it be in there a little more firmly, but it is what it is...

I am wondering how and why they even touched the center console? I had the same experiance but they did something to my door. It rattled when I got it back. Weird... My Tahoe is at the dealer right now getting the check engine light, ratteling door, and remote start fixed. I try and park my own car now. I just had the first car wash done this last week since I have had the tahoe in the last year....

I know it is not woodgrained. I was asking how it appeared to be on there. I am going to remove mine to have a woodgrain put on it.

Guys, I'm pretty sure he is NOT talking about the rubber insert. The insert just slips back in.

How about the chrome handle that comes with the Denali too. My neighbor just got one and the subtle diiferences look very nice compared to the Hoe. Keep us posted.
