Corvette Servo Pin

Is it necessary to purchase the Corvette Servo with the longer Pin, or does the standard size pin work the same way?? I'm about to purchase a Corvette Servo from Oregon Performance on eBay, and I would like to know if one is needed over the other.

What does the longer pin do for you? I have a 150k tahoe z71 and I am looking into getting the servo kit, but wondering if i shoul get the longer pin? Will it help hold the band tighter? Will it cause the band to constantly touch the drum and subsequently wear it out early? Any advice would be appreciated.
