friday may 2, 2008 is nationial gas strike Friday. If you are feed up with these high gas prices then here is your chance to show it. Do not put any gas in any car, truck, or motorcycle. Prove to the goverment that we are all feed up with these high gas prices.

If nothing else, they'll bump up the price so they can recover from whatever hit they may take...

What hit will they take? You will still fill up your car - they do 150% business on Thursday and Saturday, but none on Friday - what message have you sent?

If you really want to hit them - say no driving on friday. If a huge percentage of people did not consume gas on a certain day - that would have an impact, but I cannot see that level of organization happen on a national level.

Fill up - go to work.

Gas is a fixed commodity. If it goes up to $10 per gallon, people will still purchase it to at least get to work (unless they cannot recoup their gas cost once they get there), the store and other family needs.

You want to save money - consume less. For most of us - that means drive a more fuel efficient car, not a simple "combine trips when you go to the store".

Good luck with your gas strike.

I understand

I know that it wont make a dent in what the goverment makes on gas but if you think about the affect that we might show to all the presidential hopefulls that there need sto be a change then this might be that switch. As for consuming less I have taken my tahoe of the road and now I am ridind my motorcycle what have you done to change?

If you feel

If you feel stupid that is on you. If you have a back bone and feel like the goverment has us bent over and is laghing at us. Then when do you plan on using that back bone. We are americians and we control the goverment, but the way people are talking you seem to have no problem with them running our lives.

I'm glad that I drive a very fuel efficient 6.0 yukon denali, I save gas money left and right........when the key is out of the ignition, that is!!!:smilielol:
I understand the concept that you are talking about but unfortunantly it really does have to take a "No driving= No gas consumption" approach to have the effect that you are after. Not filling up on Friday but still driving means that you still have to fill up, just on Saturday!!

I have to have gas. I usually fill up on Sunday, Wedndesday, and Friday. I don't think my 25 gallons is going to make or break our country. These things don't work, when are people going to learn that gas prices are a fact of life. Just be glad we can afford it.

I do understand that we all revole around gas. I got a email today saying that the goverment spends over 333 million dollars on illegal aliens a year is that were you want you gas money to go. 1 day means 70 million dollars gets to stay in our country and doesnt get sent to others in which we buy gas from. If you do need to fill up atleast use BP, HESS, SUNOCO, try not to use citco deff. our money goes to Venesuela which does not like Americia ( only for the money)

If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

Obviously we all feel your pain, but I would feel stupid if I participated in a wasted effort of a "protest."

Thanks, but pass.
