Well, the Tahoe/Yukon has an 30 Gallon tank - so that will help you on the Fill up price - and normally can get around 16-20 mpg

I have a 99 that gets right around 15-16 (20in Wheels, Intake, etc)
I have a 97 that gets in the 18-19 area (factory as a bone)

16mpg - 20mpg? You swap a V6 in that thing? 12mpg - 14mpg city, 16mpg - 18mpg highway. That's if it is in like new condition. Most of the ones you will find (unless you happen to be lucky or find one with low miles) will get a little more lazy on the mileage due to engine and drivetrain wear.

You'll probably get anywear from 350 - 450 miles out of a tank (obviously you wouldn't use up all 30 gallons before) depending on driving habits and WHERE you drive.

It is difficult to believe that a Tahoe 350 can get 18mpg in the city. I get 14mpg out of mine, and I consider myself lucky, as I know many people in the 10-12 range. I only get 18mpg out of my Jeep with an I-6, and about 10mpg out of my CJ-5 with a 350.
I drive with a light foot, only city driving, stock 97 on 285/75's, and I always get at least 380 miles to the tank. When I fill up, it takes 26-27 gallons(cost: $100 and increasing), which I have to do three times a month.
I think for the size and power, the Tahoe is good on mileage. I feel safe driving mine, moreso than any other vehicle I've owned/driven.

Yes, i am really sayin it gets around 16 city - 18-20 highway.. trust me i know the differance between my 99 and my 97... the 99 wow.. i have seen it at times only getting 9-10... and when i first bought it, it was getting er.. well around 16.. - and also there is a major weight differance on the two of mine.. when i pull my pontoon (24ft) i pull it with the 99.. and i get.. well crap for gas mileage.. - but, i have a V6 worktruck (gonna leave the namebrand off here) and it only pulls 11 mpg.. thats why i'd rather drive my yuks

I wonder if people are ignoring the difference gearing makes... 3.73 gears here... towing I get ~13, and normal mixed driving about 14.5 (over the past 1.5 years of documenting milage with the Yuk)

30 gallon tank? Mine has a 25 gallon gas tank. I can go a little more than 400 miles on that tank. It only time I've calculated fuel mileage was when I drove to Seattle and back, about 600 miles round-trip. I got 17 mpg going there, and 16 mpg coming back.

Just bought a 97 with 97k miles, only really driven it for 2 tank but I seem to be getting 15-17 highway/city and a little over 450 miles per tank.

I got a 1995 Tahoe with throttle body injection and I get an average of like 13.5 mpg... which is better than the Estimated EPA MPG of 12 with a 45/55 highway/city mix. I personally drive more highway than city I would say. If I got an average of like 16+ like some people are tlaking about, that would own.

I really want to find a little 4-banger to cart around during the week. Something real little, like a 1.8L or something. That would be awesome.

EDIT:

How are you '97 - '99ers getting anywhere in the 16+ range? You do a lot of modding or what?
