If you are referring to the little, square, silver emblem, it didn't on my Tahoe. Just stuck on w/ 3M trim tape.

I just bought a 2000 chevy tahoe, and debadged the back CHEVROLET logo, after taking it off the adhesive was still there (the black tape) and i had to sit there and peel/pick it off with my fingernails. Is there an easier way to do it? after i put some goo done and rubbed it but theres still some adhesive. PLEASE HELP. thanks..

Rubbing the area with Maquire's Swirl Remover will help blend out the shadow of pristine paint that is left under the adhesive.

Thanks for all the advice! I'm definately gonna use those. Do you know if blow drying the badge longer would help get the adhesive off more? i only blow dried it for about a minute.

Yeah it will but the easier way is to spray the Bug and Tar remover on the leftover adhesives and leave it to soak in for 30 minutes then come back and respray it again after the 30 mins. and leave it for another 15 mins. an it will come right off when you clean it after the combined 45 mins.

Fishing Line_-_ That's how I took off the B.S. dealership logo on the back of my truck. Then I wiped it down with some bug & Tar remover and it took the left over adhesive right off. Be careful to wrap the fishing line around something other than your hand, I used a small piece of cardboard on each end.

hi guys, well I've tried all your suggestions of trying to get the old adhesive off my car after debading it and nothing has worked yet. Here's what I've tried. (Goo Gone Automotive spray gel, WD40, Marguire's wax spray, and prying with my fingers) PLEASE HELP ME! I'm gonna post a picture to this to help show my dilemma with debadging my Tahoe. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP! in the picture, all the white outlined stuff is some sticky adhesive stuff.

Try this?

I've used 3M's decal and adhesive remover with great success in my shop. There are a host of other chemicals or products that can be used with proper techniques, however they can damage the paint, clearcoat or finish if not done properly. Things like lacquer thinner, Ronsonol lighter fluid, DuPont surface prep or other solvents require varying (but high) degrees of care and also typically require some restorative processes (buffing, polishing, etc.) afterward. Before you even think about trying these, you need to discuss the matter with your local automotive paint jobber. They are typically reserved for more of the "oh S@#$" cases where the only other viable step is reshooting the panel.

For what you're talking about doing with it, I'd just buy the aerosol. That should set you back far enough as it is! I've removed a significant amount of reflective emergency vehicle decaling with a single can before, so I'm pretty sure it would do what you need. Be sure you're buying the remover that is safe for automotive finishes, like you'd find at a good auto parts store or automotive paint store. There are other 3M removers that are not safe for auto paint. If you have to use something besides your nails, use a soft plastic throw-away putty knife or preferably a soft plastic cake icing stick. They will not harm your paint finish as long as you aren't deliberately negligent with it. :)
