Have anybody tried this iPod kit?

I'm thinking of buying this kit.

My 04 Hoe has the 6cd in-dash changer and BOSE. The radio has an extra input on the back but I don't know if this kit will work. Anybody?

Ya, I had that one installed. Works great unless you have a (non-factory) satellite radio adapter installed already. The both use the same data cable for displaying song info, i couldn't get it to work right with my Bose system.

Other than the inability to display song info, it works pretty well most of the time. Every once in awhile when you start up you'll hear the satellite radio playing in the background. All you have to do is select the sat radio band, change the station, and the background noise goes away.

Oh, and on a navi head unit it'll only play 6 playlists (b/c there are 6 discs in the CD changer input).

All in all I'm glad I have it, but I wont hesitste to pull it and install another one when a better product comes out.

USA Spec Ipod Interface

It is a link to a USA Spec Ipod Interface PA11GM... It's also like $10 cheaper than the adapter you posted.

neighbour, do you have an aftermarket xm or sirius sat radio adapter installed? If you don't then any of them will work fine, if you do then stay away from the USA Spec adapter.....I had all sorts of problems with it blocking out either sat radio or the ipod. Just fyi

Yea, from what I've read the iPod adapter works better with factory sat radio. But again this is from reading not actual experiance. I really want to hook my iPhone up to stock head unit but decided to hook up amp and sub first.

This is one of the kits on crutchfield. When I talked to them they recommended http://www.crutchfield.com/p_581PA11GM/USA-Spec-iPod-Interface.html?tp=120
I just noticed the adapter you listed is sold my crutchfield. They have them both. Both are supposed to charge certain ipods and be able to control through steering wheel controls.
also the Soundgate GMPD2 does that, allows full Ipod access from radio, and or steering wheeel controls...5-10 minute installation, charges Ipod, runs it through your factory system.

I don't have sat radio, stock or aftermarket, just original 6cd in-dash, so I guess it'll work then. Or?

A follow-up Q. What I would really like is a kit with line in and line out. I don't need iPod control since I don't have an iPod. I've got an N95 with 8GB card with MP3's on so I just need to connect this to the radio. I've also got a powered sub so I'd like a line out to hook it up to. Any suggestions?

So I guess a LOC is the only way to get a line out, huh? I was hoping to just plug in a gizmo in the back of the radio.
