i just bought a 01 yukon today, i come home and find that the middle and the seat behind the drivers side seatbelts are under the seat and above a black bar i thought it was strange and that maybe they got stuck like that when the seats was folding down. i cant find where to fold them how do you do it? i looked in the book and it didnt say anything about them folding but something about the headrest? im confused and it might be a stupid question but i cant figure it out, my blazer and camaro have a lever, but i cant find anything on this

other then that im very happy with my yukon

There should be a little strap connected to the seat pad where the back rest meets the seat pad (might be tucked under the back rest). Basically the seat pad is hinged in the front of the seat so when you pull on the strap, the seat pad will pull away towards the drivers seat, then if you pulled the headrests you could just fold the back rest into the void where the seat pad was. The passenger back seat will fold the same way if you were wanting to haul anything big that you need the cargo room but it does have a lever (it's the only seat in the second row that does) that slides the seat forward also to allow someone to be able to crawl into the 3rd row. Hope that helps!!

I believe the lever that slides the seat forward is only on the XL/Suburbans. Our Tahoe doesn't have it.

I'm guessing on the lower trim Tahoe/Yukons you have to remove the headrests for the seat back to fold down. On our LT the headrests rotate back on their own though.
