We have the straps loose. And the fuel tank didn't budge with pry bars on it.

Any advice would be appreciated

We pried with a good sized crow bar and finally got it down.

It is leaking. Can anybody help out with a best place to buy a good quality replacement tank and/or part number?

Thanks

Aside from local salvage yards or car-part.com. Rockauto.com has just about everything I ever need. I'm sure they have Tahoe fuel tanks including the diesel ones.

Good links. I got one from Advanced Auto parts. I didn't want to wait. Then I found a bad cross member, had more hold ups and now I'm bit for time

Leaking gas tank

If it's a small leak at at seam or pin hole try using epory to seal the leak on the outside. I work on a lot of old cars and have had success with the two part epoxy you get at the parts store. About 5 or 6 dollars.
